BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE promotional activities for this year’s St. Kitts Music Festival has gotten off to a fantastic start with an event dubbed ‘Music Festival Jump Off’, which took place at the Independence Square last evening (Jun. 6).

With plenty of prizes on offer, including tickets to the three-night event, an exciting feature at the launch was a supersized slot machine that gave patrons an opportunity to enter for 60 seconds to grab as much cash as they possibly could.

There was entertainment galore as the Grand Masters Band dished out pieces of its own and  provided musical accompaniment to a number of local artistes including reigning National Carnival Queen Kaeve Armstrong, who grooved the crowd with an impressive array of R&B hits.

Also performing was Kjah Armstrong who gave the audience not only his original songs but also those of some of the artistes expected to grace the Music Festival’s Stage later this month.

And C-Money also rocked the crowd with some of his latest hits.

Also, the quartet of Mika O'Brien, Melissa Wharton, Brianda Harvey and Patonenia Gilbert were were announced as the 2014 St. Kitts Music Festival Promotional Models.

It was also announced that LIME has partnered with local company CaribApp (a division of Caribbean Commerce) to deliver the first ever mobile app for the St. Kitts Music Festival, which went live for the first time yesterday.

Now in its 18th year, and apart from regional and international artistes, the Festival has attracted a large made up of local acts. It will be featuring a wide range of musical styles on the popular market, including R&B, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Soca, Calypso, Gospel and Contemporary music.
