Kittitian Hill Celebrates Significant Milestone in its Journey with Opening Ceremony and Community Celebration

Press Release

11th July, 2014 – Kittitian Hill, St. Kitts’ new luxury hospitality and real estate destination, celebrated an important milestone yesterday in advance of its grand opening in December. The July 10th ceremony at Irie Fields Golf Course followed by an unveiling and ribbon cutting ceremony at the Great House at Belle Mont Farm marked the commencement of The Kitchen restaurant & The Mill bar, as well as, the employee- training program including a designated Culinary Academy. Attendees included the Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas, Minister of Tourism and International Transport, the Honourable Ricky Skerritt, other dignitaries and over 250 invited guests.

To mark the momentous occasion, Kittitian Hill’s founder and visionary Val Kempadoo unveiled the keystone at the Great House, and Prime Minister Douglas along with a student from the St. Paul’s Primary School and an elder of St. Paul’s Village cut the ribbon at the entrance of the Great House. A central structure of the Kittitian Hill development, the Great House boasts breathtaking views and architecture reminiscent of a traditional sugar mill, constructed from stones carefully repurposed from the property’s land. The ceremony launched The Kitchen restaurant & The Mill bar, which are located within the Great House, and will now preview farm-to-table fare Fridays through Sundays. Event attendees toured Irie Fields Golf Course and had a sneak peak of a Guesthouse at Belle Mont Farm.

“The philosophy of Kittitian Hill is ingrained in the rich culture and history of this island, so the people of St. Kitts are an integral part of our story,” said founder Val Kempadoo. “We feel that it is important to celebrate this significant milestone with the community, as we are all part of this journey that will have a positive impact for generations to come.”

The festivities continue today Friday, July 11 with a Community Celebration to show appreciation to the local craftsmen, staff and the Kittitian community for their ongoing hard work, dedication and commitment to the project. Prime Minister Douglas will be in attendance to interact with the employees and recognize their contributions.

Belle Mont Farm, the first chapter in the development of Kittitian Hill will open on December 12, 2014 featuring 84 Guesthouses and seven, four-bedroom Farmhouses. Reservations will be taken as of September 1 with rates starting at $800 per night. For more information contact info@kittitian.com and visit, www.bellemontfarm.com.
