Basseterre, St. Kitts - The five sprinters who represented St. Kitts and Nevis in the 100m at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, have progressed to the semi-finals of the event, following round one yesterday (Jul. 27).
In the men’s 100m race, Jason Rogers copped a second place finish in his heat with a time of 10.39 seconds to automatically qualify for the Semis. Antione Adams qualified via the same route placing second in his heat with a 10.31-second time.
The other male athlete in the 100m - Brijesh Lawrence - qualified for the semis as one of the six fastest losers after he finished fourth in 10.43 seconds.
On the distaff side, Meritzer Williams and Marecia Pemberton both finished fourth in their heats respectively and had to settle for the fastest loser spots. They finished in 11.75 and 11.77 respectively.
The Semi-Finals and Finals are slated for today (Jul. 28).
