STRAY ANIMALS CAUSED TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
The Traffic Department is investigating two (2) traffic accidents which occurred along the FT Williams High in the vicinity of Buckley Estate on Wednesday 30 July 2014 about 8:15 PM and 8:20 PM , which resulted in both vehicles extensively damaged and the animal killed.
Investigations revealed that a cattle crossed the road in the path of the vehicles and was struck by both vehicles five minutes apart of each other, the second hit resulted in it being killed. The owner of the animal is yet to be identified.
The Sandy Point Police Station is also investigating a traffic accident which occurred along the Island's Main Road in the vicinity of Pon-De-Edge about 11:00 PM on Monday 4 August 2014, due to an animal crossing the roaded.
Investigation revealed that a cattle suddenly crossed the road from the seaside and the driver in attempting to avoid hitting the animal collided to a tree causing slight damages to the vehicle. The owner of the animal is yet to be identified.
The Traffic Department is therefore calling on all animal owners in these areas to keep their animals tied or penned, and reminding them that stray animals on the roads are a danger to motorists. Also, it is an offence to have their animals wandering the streets in such manner. All animal owners are therefore encouraged to keep their animals tied or penned in assisting to keep the roads safe for all motorists.
ARRESTS
Richards Dorset of Gibbon Hill, Dieppe Bay was formally arrested and charged for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis With Intent To Supply, which was committed on Friday 1 August 2014.
Daron Thomas of Dieppe Bay was formally arrested and charged for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis With Intent To Supply, which was committed on Friday 1 August 2014.
Gavin Davis" of Church Ground was formally arrested and charged for the offences Escaping Lawful Custody and Larceny, which were committed on Friday 1 August 2014.
Ishan Mohammed of Shadwell Estate was formally arrested and charged for the offence of Driving While Under The Influence Of Alcohol, which was committed on Monday 4 August 2014.
