BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - ONE day before the 2014 Limacol Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is set to bowl off in St. Kitts and Nevis the teams have been praising the Warner Park Facility as a good place to cap off the 2014 edition of the tournament.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday Guyana Amazon Warriors coach Roger Harper stated that his team are excited to be in St. Kitts and are expecting the same atmosphere at the games in Warner Park.

“The tournament has been well received throughout the islands everyone has been excited to host CPL matches… and we don’t expect nothing different. I think the players are excited to be in St. Kitts and be a part of not only the remaining matches but looking ahead to the playoffs as well.”

Antigua Hawksbills coach Tim Nielsen of Australia shared a similar sentiment as Harper.

“The spirit of the game has been great. From someone coming from outside the Caribbean I have been here before and I just love the atmosphere and the fun element… I am looking forward to seeing people in the pool over here tomorrow afternoon. We don’t see that often in Australia those little things are exciting and fun to watch.

He added that here in St. Kitts and Nevis will be a great place for the CPL to climax.

“I think the whole time the tournament has gone on it looks like the teams are trying to play attractive fun cricket, trying to play aggressive and that is what the crowd want to see. We are here to entertain and put on a show for them…and St. Kitts is a great place to finish off the tournament in.”

Coach of the Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel, Simon Helmot, when questioned about the size of the ground stated it will add another element to the games.

“It just adds another dimension to this wonderful competition we had all different grounds and different circumstances to confront and this ground pose another challenge certainly for the bowlers to bowl defensively.

He also praised the facility as a great ground for T20 cricket that should provide a fantastic finish for the tournament.

“It looks like it is going to be a good wicket and a fantastic ground for T20 cricket and hopefully a fantastic finish to the competition. For us we will still try and execute our skills as best as we possibly can and looking forward to the match.”

Thursday matches will see the Guyana Amazon Warriors take on Antigua Hawksbills at 4pm and Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel play Barbados Tridents at 8pm.
