Kingston, Jamaica  --  It will definitely be a September to remember when soulful R&B/Pop singer, Patrick Eldra DeBarge, more popularly known as El DeBarge, makes very his very first appearance on a Jamaican stage.

The event, another in the hugely successful R&B Reggae Concert series, is scheduled to take place at the Golf Academy in New Kingston on Saturday, September 27, 2014.

A former lead singer of DeBarge, the acclaimed sibling group, El DeBarge, who is known for his incomparable falsetto, has carved out his own solo career with distinction and has a barrage of classics which have been thrilling international audiences for years.   Songs such as Rhythm of The Night, Love Me In A Special Way, Time Will Reveal, Real Love, I Like It, Love Always and Who’s Holding Donna Now are just a few of the memorable, chart-topping hits for El and the group, DeBarge.

El DeBarge’s silky smooth and sugary sweet falsetto, combined with his heartfelt love songs, represent pure romanticism, and he will provide his Jamaican audience with the classic romantic jam in September. He will be joined on stage on September 27 at the R&B Reggae Concert by a host of A-list reggae artistes.

The three-time Grammy nominee was the focal point of family group DeBarge throughout the early to mid-1980s and is also famous for his collaborations with Tone Loc, Quincy Jones, Fourplay and DJ Quik. El is of African American, English, French Canadian and Native American descent.

The sixth of 10 DeBarge children, El DeBarge’s signature falsetto anchored 16 Top 10 hits, both with the family group, DeBarge (All This Love, I Like It, Time Will Reveal) and as a solo artist (Rhythm of the Night, Who's Holding Donna Now). In 1990, El teamed up with Quincy Jones to create the unforgettable smash The Secret Garden, which also featured Barry White, Al B. Sure!, and James Ingram.
