Basseterre, St.Kitts (Youth of UNITY) -- Youth Entrepreneur, Social Activist, Performer and Founder and Creator of the Island Expressions Mr. Samal “Z-Dan” Duggins has been announced as the host for this Saturday August 23rd historic Y.O.U (Youth of UNITY) Youth Convention at the OOJJ’s Conference Center.
Duggins’ presence adds to an already impressive line-up of accomplished, gifted, educated and talented young people who will be using the Convention platform to motivate young people to not only develop themselves but also to contribute to the development of the country and to positively changed the political landscape. Duggins will use his hosting duty as an opportunity to share some of his own experiences and successes as a youth and young professional as a means of providing motivation and inspiration for the young audience.
Samal Duggins is a well known Youth in the federation and in particular in the West Basseterre area where he resides. The talented and gifted young Duggins is known as much for his creativity as an entrepreneur and performer as he is for his intellect as one of the federations young bright scholars. He was one of the winner s of the ECCB OECS Essay Competition while in High School and was also a top graduate of the Verchilds High School. The Young Duggins created a music group and label known as DaEmbassy and performed as Z-Dan .
DaEmbassy took local music to another level and showed that St.Kitts-Nevis can produce world class Hip Hop music on the level of any International artiste.
Duggins was awarded a Liamuiga Legacy Youth Award in 2010 for his contribution to youth development in the federation as well as his own development as a young professional in the area of entrepreneurship, the arts and social development.
Z-Dan has been described as a visionary and has indeed proven that positivity wins out in the end. Through his persistence he has been able to engage quite a large following of young people whose love of art and artistic expression have found through his efforts the exposure and outlet they need - so necessary in these wild times and distractions.
Samal is also an accomplished Videographer, Music Producer and Filmmaker.
Duggins will host the historic event.
The Y.O.U Convention begins at 1pm and is expected to feature Vincentian Senator Vynnette Frederick, Trinidadian Social Activist Sherwin Williams, People’s Action Movement Deputy Leader and Team UNITY Candidate Attorney Jonel Powell and performer Nicha B.
