By: SPBS, Press Release

Bronx, NY: On Saturday August 30th, the Sandy Point Benevolent Society (SPBS) will attract members of the West Indian Diaspora to a magnificent celebratory event. The gala will offer a unique blend of entertainment and an exposure to some of the best and brightest and most accomplished individuals.

From all reports, the impressive Maestro Banquet Hall, 1703 Bronxdale Ave, Bronx, NY will reverberate with energy and enjoyment from 8pm to 2am on August 30th, as scores of nationals from the twin island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis resident at home and abroad are expected to attend this GALA affair.

With Brimstone Hill National Park Fortress and Harowe Servo Control as the premier sponsors for 2014 benefit gala, event bears the theme, ‘Celebrating Excellence’, and would see several accomplished citizens of the Federation of St. Kitts- Nevis taking the spotlight. See the banquet poster for details.

This is unique event and we remind patrons to come early to get their money’s worth. Doors open promptly at 8:00 PM with an open bar and hors d’oeuvre. Music accompaniment will be provided by the Jupiter Band.

The evening will be filled with entertainment renowned artists Pat Ross and Benjax, and will feature a guest appearance from King Ranger. Other notables will include dance selections from Briannah Dennehy (recording artist) and Stacey Greene (Dance Ambassador and 2012-13 Miss Caribbean USA).

Delivering the featured presentation would be Dr. Frank Mills who currently serves as the Interim Vice Provost of Research and Public Service, and is Professor of Social Sciences at the University of the Virgin Islands.

After a sumptuous dinner patrons will hit the dance floor and be entertained well into the early morning hours.

Also sharing the spotlight will be 2014 honorees including Seymour “Tally” Davis (educator, coach, and author) and Robelto “Tango” Glasgow (entrepreneur and philanthropist).

Undoubtedly, this Awards Banquet promises to be a reunion of sorts- an evening of celebrating excellence, connecting and reconnecting, with friends, classmates, schoolmates, teachers and nationals and friends of the Federation. Lots of Caribbean food, drinks, fun, laughter, music, dancing, and celebration will make the night one to remember.  Past patrons of this SPBS Annual Awards Banquet have affirmed that it is the place on the US Labor Day weekend.
