Basseterre, St.Kitts September,8 2014 (TUCOM):- Team Unity joins the Premier of Nevis Hon. Vance Amory and Deputy Premier Hon. Mark Brantley and the nation in expressing deepest sympathies to the family of the young Miss Shante Claxton. We strongly condemn this brutal act against one of our nation's young daughters, and ask that we all give full support to the Police in their investigations so that justice may be swift and sure. Let us hold up Shante's family and friends in fervent prayer, as well as the Jessups Community and her classmates and teachers at the Charlestown Secondary School. In this time of grief, may we take comfort in knowing that God neither sleeps nor slumbers. Sooner or later, justice for Shante must be done, will be done.
Let us all find solace in knowing that Shante is now in the safe and secure hands of our lord and savior. May her soul rest in eternal peace
The Youth Arm of Team UNITY also issued a brief statement on the loss of young Shante. The Y.O.U (Youth Of UNITY) stated “We stand united with the People of Nevis in mourning the loss of young Shante Claxton. We condemn the coward who took her precious life away, and we remember that in time, the Lord will ensure that justice is served. "For if anyone should cause one of my little ones to stumble, it were better that a millstone be hanged around their necks and they were drowned in the depths of the ocean" (Matthew 18:6)
