Saluting Annick Bedford, 2013 Remarkable Teen of Youth Activism

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, SEPTEMBER 11TH 2014 (CUOPM) - Annick is a young lady on the go. Her 2013 citation noted Annick won the first annual National Sagicor Visionaries Challenge in St. Kitts and travelled to Barbados to represent the Federation. While there, she received the award for presenting information that is “The most relevant to Sustainable Caribbean Communities.”

     

    Annick has also placed third in the humanitarian Essay Competition sponsored by UNESCO and the Ministry of Health. 
     
    She placed second in the fourth Annual NAAP Imelda Wilkin Effective Speaking Competition, taking first in the impromptu section. 
     
    Annick placed first in the 2013 National Tourism Youth Congress and is now the Junior Tourism Minister for St. Kitts. As part of her responsibilities, she recently represented St. Kitts in Martinique at a regional conference. 
     
    Annick is also the PRO for the Student Government Association of her school, and was the assistant PRO in their Junior Achievement Company for 2010-2011 and 2012-2013 respectively. 
     
    Her citation says Annick believes in the notion of unity and feels strongly about finding ways to help each person develop their talents and skills. She is a fighter for youths and for what youths stand for. 
     
    She is also a major role model in the Seventh Day Adventist Church where she worships and at her school.
     
    Annick has done much for her community and is always quick to lend a helping hand. 
    As a Pathfinder she “Strives to do her honest part.” 
     
    At the time, Annick Bedford was a 16-year-old student of the WAHS and is being recognized as a Remarkable Teen in the category of Youth Activism.
