Ambassadors, High Commissioners from several nations in St. Kitts and Nevis for 31st Anniversary of Independence celebrations

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, SEPTEMBER 18TH 2014 (CUOPM) – Representatives from several countries are in St. Kitts and Nevis are in St. Kitts and Nevis to mark the 31st  Independence Anniversary celebrations is in Basseterre.

     

    Representatives of 11 countries will join thousands of nationals and residents at Warner Park for the Ceremonial Parade to mark the 31st Anniversary of Independence at 10 o clock this evening.
     
    Among the visiting dignitaries are United States Ambassador to St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Larry Palmer; High Commissioner of India to St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Mr. Mahalingam; Germany’s Ambassador, His Excellency, Luiz Goergens; Mexico’s Ambassador to St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Luis Manuel Lopez-Moreno; Russia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Vladimir Polenov; Japan’s Ambassador to St. Kitts and Nevis His Excellency Yoshimasa Tezuka; South Africa’s High Commissioner to St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Mathu Joyini; France’s Ambassador to St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Eric de LaMoussaye; South Korea’s Ambassador to St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Oh Hang; Spain’s Ambassador to St. Kits and Nevis, His Excellency Anibal Julio Jiminez Abascal  and the United Kingdom’s Deputy British High Commissioner, His Excellency Mr. Colin dick.
     
    The OECS is represented by Ambassador His Excellency Anthony Severin and the European Union by Minister Counsellor – Trade, Regional Integration, Political and Press and Information.
     
    They will join His Excellency the Governor General His Excellency Sir Edmund Lawrence; Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas; Deputy Prime Minister the Hon. Dr. Earl Asim Martin; Members of the Cabinet; Speaker of the National Assembly, the Hon. Curtis Martin and other members of the Parliament; High Court Judge; Resident Ambassadors and members of the Diplomatic and Counselor Corps.
     
    Armed and unarmed units of the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, the St. Kitts-Nevis Cadet Corps. the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force Band, St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Services, Boys Brigade, Seventh Day Adventist Pathfinders, Boy Scouts, Brownies, Boys Brigade, Fire Services, Girls Brigade, Cub Scouts and Shadwell Overcomers are expected to be on parade.
