Condolences to Constable Cannonier's Family and Friends

Press Release

    Basseterrre, St. Kitts -The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is saddened by the the death of No. 762 Constable Avis Cannonier, who succumbed to her illness early this morning (22 September 2014), which she was battling for sometime. She left to mourn her two (2) children, other family members and friends, and not to forget her adopted family of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.  

     

    No. 762 Constable Avis Cannonier contributed tremendously to law enforcement of this Federation. Constable Cannonier enlisted in The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force on March 1st 2010. She successfully completed initial Police Training on Course No. 38 that took place between 1st November 2010 to 2nd June 2011. Prior to her enlistment into the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, she was a member of the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force Reserve at which she served eight (8) years. During which, she completed a number of training in the fields of Skill at Arms, Stop and Search, Land Navigation, Jungle Warfare, Conventional Warfare, Fieldcraft, Internal Security and Map Reading, just to name a few. She was also an active member of the St. Kitts - Nevis Cadet Corp in 1996.

    After her graduation from The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force Training School, Constable Cannonier performed duties at the Crime Scene Unit, Basseterre Police Station , Frigate Bay Police Station and Cayon Police Station.  She also attended and successfully completed training in RSS Basic Course, 1/2012. For both training courses, Constable Cannonier was awarded Best at Physical Training.  

    No. 762 Constable Avis Cannonier service rendered to The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis and the Federation will always be cherished. The effects of her death are being felt by those who had the honour and pleasure of working with her.  

    Please accept our heartfelt condolences from the Commissioner C G Walwyn on behalf of The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the Anti Crime Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister  extend sincere condolences to Constable Avis Cannonier's  family and friends.
