BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, SEPTEMBER 29TH 2014 (CUOPM) – The Regional General Manager for Delta Petroleum (Caribbean) Limited, Mr. Bevis Sylvester, in crediting St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas and his Government for the company’s expansion on St. Kitts.

“As we move forward, we are bold enough to say we are entering the St. Kitts market. That would not have been possible at all without the vision of a great leader, the Rt. Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas and his Cabinet,” Mr. Sylvester said at the ground breaking ceremony for a bulk facility.

“We met with Dr. Douglas and Dr. Douglas told us to give him some time and he will get back to us. I must say that he is a man to his word because while we patiently waited, I had a contact person and he told me that the Prime Minister is working on your matter and that’s all I wanted to hear. I would meet him. I would write him. He would get my letters and he would action my letters. How do I know that he action them? Because, we are here today,” said Mr. Sylvester.

“Without his Cabinet’s approval, we would not be here today to give you the good story of Delta Petroleum and I would like to say a special, special thanks to the Prime Minister, his Cabinet, the government officials, the Permanent Secretaries that worked on this matter and will continue to work on this matter to give us building permits etc…to ensure that on the 15th October, we begin our construction on our plant,” the Delta official said.

“Let it be known that we don’t have any time for delay. In five months, we must have a plant on this site because we are here to do serious business. We are not here to drink milk as the youngsters say And the people’s business, our customer’s business are the most important business for us. Politicians and I share something in common, our trade in stock are the same, and it’s the people. I call them customers, they call them constituents, but we all have to go to the same barrel to get what we want,” said Mr. Sylvester, who called on the invited guests including Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris “to stand and clap your hands because we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for this Great Leader the Right Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas.”

“Sir, we can assure you that you have made an excellent decision by allowing holding this particular site so that we can reach our customers in St. Kitts. And yes, the decision has been made to move our headquarters from the British Virgin Islands to St. Kitts,  and you know we only go where there is growth,” said Mr. Sylvester.
