BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE honour of being named the August 2014 Employee of the Month for Kajola Kristada has been bestowed on Joslyn Matthew, and this is her second time receiving the award.
The 47-year-old has 14 years’ work experience at Kajola Kristada under her belt and currently is a member of the Populating Line.
Having won the EoM award in 2007, Matthew expressed that “it is a wonderful opportunity to be named the EoM for a second time”.
Asked what she did differently which may have led to her winning the August 2014 EoM award, Matthew said she “carried out the same procedure and did my work as I usually do”.
Her Supervisor Enid Smith sang her praises describing her as a dependable and helpful worker.
“She is very regular, she is never absent and if she is absent, it is because she is ill. She is very dependable. For example, if we have a rush job and we call upon her, even if the bell is soon to ring, we can count on her to stay the extra time and do it. Sometimes if she needs parts and I am busy, she would go and help out and look for them herself. Congratulations to Joslyn and I wish her all the best.”
The mother of two said her daughters – ages 15 years and 11 years – were elated when they were told of her accomplishment.
For those who had not yet won and EoM title, Matthew advised that they “have faith and do what it takes to win. Take courage and one of these days, you too would enjoy winning the award”.
When asked about what changes she would like to see whether on or off the job, Matthew said cohesion amongst her workers was at the top of her list. She said that would lead to an improvement in production and in the already great products and services offered by Kajola.
