Fishermen rescued after boat capsizes

The Sea Hustle - the vessel which was instrumental in rescuing the distressed fishermen.

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO fishermen were rescued yesterday morning (Oct. 9) after the fishing vessel on which they were, capsized.

     

    SKNVibes understands that at about 9:15a.m., the Sea Hustler was travelling from Nevis to St. Kitts when crew members observed a refrigerator afloat in the water and what appeared to be water splashing next to it.

     

    It is also understood that the Sea Hustler was turned around to investigate and it was discovered that two fishermen were using the appliance as a floatation devise while they endeavoured to swim ashore.

     

    The Sea Hustler crew went to the men’s rescue and were successful in retrieving them from the sea and taking them back to land. 

     

    SKNVibes understands that one of the men is Curvis Jeffers and the other is said to be identified as the Market Keeper.
