Gingerland youth with nine Customs charges on $32 000 bail

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – CALDRE CHAPMAN, the young man from Matchman’s Village in Gingerland who was slapped with nine Customs-related charges, was placed on bail until.

     

    Information reaching SKNVibes states that Chapman appeared today (Oct.14) at the Charlestown Magistrate’s Court before Her Worship Jasmine Clarke and was granted bail to the tune of $32 000 with two sureties. 
     
    Chapman was arrested on Monday (Oct.6) following a joint Police and Customs operation in Nevis and was subsequently charged with two counts of Importation of Firearm, two counts of Importation of Ammunition, four counts of Attempting to Evade Customs and one count of Making a False Declaration.
     
    This media house also learned that Chapman is alleged to have imported two firearms and a quantity of matching ammunition, and that all charges are Customs-related.
