Man reportedly dies in morning shooting

Police making investigations following this morning’s shooting at the Newtown Boat Yard.

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – INFORMATION reaching SKNVibes suggests that the man who was shot along the road which leads to the old sugar pier at the C. A. Paul Industrial Site this morning (Oct. 21) has died.

     

    Speaking with SKNVibes, Public Relations Officer of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force Inspector Lyndon David confirmed that the shooting transpired sometime after 8:00 a.m. 

     

    He also indicated that the victim was transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment of his wounds.

     

    Since then, SKNVibes understands, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

     

    Upon arrival at the scene this morning SKNVibes observed about half-dozen police officer, including Crime Scene Technicians investigating the matter and combing the area for spent shells.

     

    The Inspector told this publication that at that time he was unaware of the name of the victim but promised to disseminate a release on the matter later today.

     

    SKNVibes has since learnt that the deceased has been identified as Shammond Herbert Liburd.
