SCASPA reports increase in passengers, flight arrivals in August

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 21ST 2014 (CUOPM) - The St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) is reporting increases in passenger arrivals and departures at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport in St. Kitts for the month of August this year compared to the same period last year.

     

    Figures from SCASPA’s Department of Finance & Statistics indicate that 12,379 passengers arrived in August this year compared to11, 179, an increase of 1,174 passengers, an increase of 10.73 percent.

    The department is also reporting a 15.06 percent increase in passenger departures, up 14,745 in August this year compared to 12,815 last year, an increase of 1,930 passengers.

    The number of flights in also increased 3 percent in August this year to 605, compared to 585 in August last year. Flight out also increased 3 percent to 603 in August this year compared to 585 in August last year.

    American Airlines continues to be the leading passenger carrier into St. Kitts’ Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport.

    SCASPA disclosed that American Airlines brought in 5,931 passengers on 56 flights in August and took out 7,905 in the same month.

    The second leading carrier was LIAT with 3,817 passengers from 183 flights and took out 4,172 passengers on 183 flights.
    British Airways brought in with 842 passengers on 9 flights and took out 1,096 passengers also from 9 flights in August.

    SCASPA’s Department of Finance and Statistics reported that next in line US Airways, 593 passengers from five flights, Seabourne Airlines, 501 passengers from 67 flights in 480 passengers outward bound from 61 flights; WINAIR, 300 passengers from 61 flights and Caribbean Airline, 105 passengers from one flight in.

    Trans Anguilla brought in 201 passengers on 44 flights with 183 passengers outbound.
