BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A Sandy Point man was discovered dead in the Sandy Point mountain area yesterday (Oct. 23) afternoon after he had visited his farm there sometime prior.

Commander of the District ‘B’ Superintendent Cromwell Henry told SKNVibes that the deceased’s man is Clinton Lewis of Crab Hill.

He explained that according to the others farmers in the community, sometime on Wednesday (Oct. 22), Lewis went into the Farms Mountain area to attend to his farm, and when he did not return within a reasonable time and suspicions were raised, a search for him was mounted.

They reportedly discovered his body in some bushes.

Superintendent Henry informed that the 61-year-old’s body bore no signs of foul play. It is believed that Lewis might have taken ill while at his farm however, an autopsy is scheduled to be performed today to determine the cause of his death.

He advised that persons who would be venturing into isolated areas should inform others of their projected whereabouts.

“If you are going to an isolated place or area by yourself, let someone know where you are going and when you are expected to return. Also, have some form of communication with you to that if you need to extend the period of time that you would be away, you can inform someone.

“This also ensures that if communication is broken for any reason or if you don’t return when you said you would, people can begin looking for you immediately, rather than waiting for 24 hours to make a report and begin searching…”
