Autopsy rules out foul play in Lewis’ death

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AN autopsy performed on the body of Clinton Lewis, who was found dead in the Sandy Point mountain area last week, has ruled out foul play as a contributing factor to his death.

Lewis, a resident of Crab Hill, reportedly left for his farm in Farms Mountain last Wednesday (Oct. 22) and when he did not return within a reasonable time, other farmers of the community set out in search of him and found his lifeless body in some bushes.

He was found on the afternoon of the following day.

Over the weekend, a post mortem was performed by resident Pathologist, Dr. Adrian Nunez and SKNVibes understands that according to the findings, Lewis died as a result of haemorrhage in the brain due to hypertension.

Public Relations Officer to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force Inspector Lyndon David explained to SKNVibes that because of the pathologist’s findings, foul play has been ruled out.

In a previous interview with this publication, Commander for District B of which Sandy Point is a part, Superintendent Cromwell Henry, issued a word of advice to individuals who have need to journey into secluded areas alone.

“If you are going to an isolated place or area by yourself, let someone know where you are going and when you are expected to return. Also, have some form of communication with you to that if you need to extend the period of time that you would be away, you can inform someone.

“This also ensures that if communication is broken for any reason or if you don’t return when you said you would, people can begin looking for you immediately, rather than waiting for 24 hours to make a report and begin searching…”
