Woman charged with manslaughter

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A woman, said to be the significant other of a man who was killed during a domestic dispute on Sunday (Nov. 9), has been charged with manslaughter.

     

    According to a police press release issued this evening (Nov. 12), Ruth Mills of LaGurite has been formally arrested and charged with the offence.

     

    On Sunday evening, police were summoned to the LaGurite area where it was reported that a man had lost his life. 

     

    Upon arrival, they met 40-year-old Mills, lifeless, and the District Medical Officer was called to the scene to pronounce him dead.

     

    Ruth Mills was reportedly taken into police custody in relation to the incident and was subsequently charged.

     

    SKNVibes is unaware of whether or not she has appeared before the court and whether or not an application for bail has been made on her behalf.

     

    Leon Mills’ death, registers the Federation’s 16th homicide for the year.
