Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 18, 2014 (SKNIS): Four young men have been sworn in to protect their community as Constables in the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.
Last Friday, Anson Asis Belle, Tariq Jones, Asif Rohoman and Jason McGowan took the Oath of Allegiance, having successfully satisfied the necessary checks and passed the police entrance examinations.
Commissioner of Police, Celvin G. Walwyn administered the oath and congratulated the young men on their career choice.
“Let it be known that your life as you know it has now changed,” he emphasized. “You are to be examples for the community. Everyone will look at you as a police officer. They will judge your actions and you have to make sure that what they see is something that they and you can be proud of. Welcome to the police force; we are here to assist you through your training and ensure that you get everything you need so you can serve the community.”
The Commissioner warned the men “do not forget, you work for the people, you do not work for yourself.”
This brings the total number of persons sworn in to 18 since September 2014. The 16 police constables and two special constables will be formally trained as members of Course No. 40. in the near future.
