OAS and Canada Offer Scholarships to Study Research on Drugs

    December 8th, 2014  --  The Organization of American States (OAS), through its Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD), together with the Center for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) of Canada, have opened the International Research Capacity-Building Program for Health-Related Professionals to Study the Drug Phenomenon in Latin America and the Caribbean for the 2014-2015 period.

     

    Eligible candidates should be professionals with a Master´s or doctoral degree with mathematical training, or professionals in an area related to the issue of drugs that wish to improve their capabilities in research on drugs, including the prevention of their abuse.

    Successful candidates will receive a scholarship to study research on drugs at the CAHM in Toronto, Canada, between June and August 2015. Following this, the scholarship recipients will participate in a project on drug research in their native country between September 2015 and May 2016.

    Candidates should send a letter of presentation from the university or institution in which they work, showing the support of the corresponding institution for their participation in the program, which is designed for, but not limited to, professionals in the following areas: medicine, public health, nursing, psychology, education, social services, sociology, international health, and other areas of interest for the research of public health.
