BASSETERRE St. Kitts, 8th December, 2014 -- The SKNOC continues to partner with its Member Federations in order to further enhance the development of sports in the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis.
The SKNOC, for the third consecutive year, is funding the participation of three (3) participants in an Association of National Olympic Committees of the Eastern Caribbean States (ANOCES) “Throws Training Academy” scheduled to take place at the National Stadium in Grenada over the period Monday 8th to Friday 14th December, 2014. The events of focus will be the Discus and Shot Put. The Academy caters to youth athletes (i.e under the age of 18).
The SKNOC in collaboration with St Kitts and Nevis Amateur Athletic Association’s (SKNAAA) has approved the selection of Ms Georgia Spencer - Shot Put Athlete and Mr Aziel Smitten - Discus Athlete who are currently on the SKNAAA’s Carifta 2015 Development Squad.
The athletes will be accompanied by Mr John Heyliger, an IAAF CECS Level 2 Certified Coach, who is an active coach in the SKNAAA’s Athletics Academy and who has exhibited a very strong work ethic and commitment for the sport of Athletics/Track and Field.
Meanwhile, both Ms Spencer and Mr Smitten have continued to demonstrate their ability in the Shot Put and Discus events respectively.
