December 9th, 2014 -- WHEN PATRONS ENTERED Horsford’s Furnniture Showroom in Nevis on Friday for the launch of the Ashley Furniture line, they could not fail to be surprised at what they saw...it was not just furniture but ‘rooms to go’. .. with a variety of trendy styles in furniture designed to enhance the way they would want to live. Indeed one of the signs from Ashley read – ‘Your room is ready!’
The ‘rooms’ featured were living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms, each room displaying a variety of designs, colours and textures that would fit any kind of taste, budget or need.
The living rooms came in a variety of sets – a diversity of designs - from well covered deeply cushioned matching sets to leather covered child- proof variations. There were sets to match large spaces and also small space solutions. In every case customers were delighted to find that each set had its matching coffee table and side tables as well as classy coffee table accessories. Pleasing rugs also completed the arrangements.
The colour range of earth tones ran from deep browns to green and greys and these were matched with colourful or shimmering cushions, in some cases displaying a bold mix of stripes and florals which gave a cheery effect to the entire ensemble and made a distinctive statement.
Customers ‘ooh..ed’ and ‘ah..ed’ at the dark finished woods of the circular and rectangular dining tables with their patterned and high backed chairs and padded seats. Again they saw a range of sizes to cater to entertaining or just regular family meals. One set even featured a bench along one side of the table that would facilitate children in the family.
The bedrooms were equally pleasing with beautiful spreads, elegant dressing tables and matching chests of drawers providing more than ample storage space. To these were added bedside tables occasional tables and end of bed storage seats.
The overall elegance and style which exuded from this large showroom also came from the antique styles enhancing the furniture. The artistic patters of the dark woods made the items classy. In addition, the unique items that graced the coffee tables were sure to become conversation pieces.
Then there were various shapes of lampshades for table and standing lamps, unique and classy candle holders, tall standing floral arrangements, elegant paintings and wall decorations – all designed to serve as an aesthetically pleasing background for any customer’s life and living conditions.
It was not surprising that there was a steady stream of clients headed to the cashier eager to ensure that the pieces of furniture that evoked their mood and style were safely in their possession.
What was surprising to the customers as well was that even though these items could well be found in any rich person’s mansion, the very reasonable weekly and monthly terms of payment were well within their reach.
The staff, which worked as a team to provide this admirable display, was well pleased with the response and by Monday they had to be visiting their storeroom again to replace the many items that had already been taken.
There was no shortage of incentives to buy – there was a 30% discount for a limited period as well as the much sought after triple coupons which would be in time to supplement the much needed food and drinks from Valu Mart for Christmas.
