Basseterre- 8th December 2014 - The festival is slated to run from 27th March- 12th April, 2015. In it’s 5th installment the Black San Bang A Lang Festival is tagged “Black San Five Star Fete”.
New events will be coming for Black San Bang-A-Lang 2015 while others will be eliminated for next year’s festivities.
Speaking to PRO, Che-Raina Warner, she disclosed that the Night of Comedy, would not be taking place.
”Despite this elimination, the Black San lineup will be boosted by new and improved events, including a “Rage in the Cage” boxing tournament which will replace the Night of Comedy.”
“A new event specifically for the 5th Anniversary will be the official climax, which is usually held in the Hard Court, Sandy Point. The closing style has been re-conceptualised and we are staging a major Gala dubbed “The Black Ball”.
The staples of the festival include the Official Opening and Tractorcade, Miss Black San, Game Show, Knockshore Night,Elderly Outing, J’ouvert and Parade Day.
Other activities which will see their return to the line up include Basketball and Football Tournaments, which took place last year and garnered great participation from the community.
In further details, Ms. Warner also revealed that Proper Fix gigs would span the entire festival, featuring a wide array of local artistes, D. J’s and bands in an effort to offset the tremendous cost of hosting the free events.
We are also inviting the private sector to come on board, by means of meaningful partnerships and sponsorships. Indeed any community group or individual interested in having an event as a part of the festival are welcomed to do so.
