BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE popular “premier all-inclusive Carnival fete”, INCEPTION, has adopted LIME’s Christmas 2014 slogan “upgrade” and has taken on the telecommunications giant as its platinum sponsor for this year’s event.

The sponsorship deal was cemented on Friday (Dec. 12) at LIME’s flagship office, Cayon Street, Basseterre where Inception’s Chairman, Anthony Johnson and public relations team member Markysa O’Loughlyn were on hand to receive the $20,000 cheque from LIME’s Consumer Sales Manager Anthony Morton.

In thanking LIME for its commitment to Inception, O’Loughlin indicated that this year, the fete’s fifth year, is the perfect time for LIME to come onboard and she thanked the company for its overall contribution to Sugar Mas 43.

“On behalf of Team Inception, I am extending a special thank you to LIME St. Kitts and Nevis. They are definitely doing a good job upgrading St. Kitts and Nevis and they are upgrading Inception this year…”

Morton expressed that LIME was willing and happy to sponsor the event and even dubbed it “the ultimate LIME-ing fete”.

“It has been a five-year process of basically showing LIME that we are ready and we have impressed LIME so they feel that if they are not onboard with Inception, they are not onboard with anything for Carnival,” O’Loughlin told SKNVibes.

She said since its genesis, Inception has both evolved and upgraded and now includes three tiers of patronage: grounds entry, VIP entry and VVIP entry and for the 12-hour duration of the event, a number of opportunities would be afforded for persons to win gifts from LIME and Ashburys.

Specific to the VVIP section however, Johnson indicated that each individual in that section would receive a premium gift compliments from Dufry.

The entertainment lineup for the event includes The Bacchanalist himself, Kerwin Dubois; veteran calypsonian David Rudder; dancehall artiste, the ‘Ah So Me Like It’ singer, Spice; the Small Axe and Grand Masters Bands; Kore Band out of Nevis; DJ Wet Dut; SSS and DJ Kevy Kev.

The fete mixes 12-hours of free drinks and entertainment for a one-time fee. For the grounds tier, a number of caterers/bars would be on site so that persons needing to purchase something to eat can do so, According to Johnson however, breakfast would be provided.

    How did Inception begin?

“It began one Friday afternoon when some friends were sitting in my office speaking of how St. Kitts Nevis Carnival can be improved and we felt that there was no event that was interactive where people could go and let down their hair, walk with very little money but still have a great time so we came up with the idea of an all-inclusive fete…We wanted to do it for 12 hours non-stop so that is why we start at 10:00 p.m. and go until 10:00 in the morning,” Anthony explained.

The event would be held at the grounds of the historic Fort Thomas Hotel on Saturday, December 27.
