Introduction of the Family Shopping List

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, December 18th 2014 (Inland Revenue Department) – During the 2014 Budget Address, the Prime Minister introduced the Family Shopping List to meet the basic needs of the family. The items outlined in the list, effective immediately, will no longer attract VAT or Customs Duty. 

    The Inland Revenue Department in its efforts to continuously educate taxpayers and keep them informed, would like to advise the general public that a detailed list of these items and their corresponding tariffs can be accessed via the Department’s website at www.sknird.com

    The Inland Revenue Department is charged with administering the tax laws of the Federation in an efficient and equitable manner, to promote voluntary compliance to maximize Revenue for the development of the Federation at the least cost to the public and in a manner that warrants the highest degree of Public confidence in our integrity, efficiency and fairness. The Inland Revenue Department is the prime revenue collections agency for the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis within the Ministry of Finance, located at Bay Road, Basseterre, and Charlestown, St. Kitts and Nevis, West Indies.
