BASSETERRE, St. Kitts –- All roads lead tonight (Dec. 27) at the Historic Fort Thomas Hotel for the much-anticipated Inception Fete, where two renowned Caribbean artistes, David Rudder and Spice, have signalled their intension to “Mash up de place”.

The artistes are expected to belt out some of their most sought after songs, including Spice’s’ latest ‘Conjugal Visit’, ‘Like a Man’ and the ever popular ‘Jim Screechie’, while Rudder will hold down the crowd with his melodies of ‘1990’, ‘Hammer’ and ‘Jump up’.

During a Press Conference at the Marriott Hotel today (Dec. 27), Grace ‘Spice’ Hamilton said that she would be performing every song in her collection for the people of St. Kitts and Nevis and is urging all persons to support the show.

“Everybody that knows Spice knows that I put on a mad, mad show, a great performance…and this is no different,” she said.

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner of Police Vaughn Henderson said that the event would be one with a high level of security and he is urging all persons who are holders of licenced firearms to leave them at home, because no weapons would be allowed in the venue.

“From a security standpoint, our main objective is to ensure patrons, performers, vendors and all in attendance this evening, party and do business in an atmosphere of safety and security.”

From this backdrop, Henderson informed that they have instituted a four-phase plan to deal with the security at the venue, one of which is the pre-Inception Fete security measure. This, the ACP outlined, was carried out during the day and ran into the evening.

“We will do random stop and search of suspicious persons and vehicles and we are going to do some patrolling in some of the known hotspots…Phase two will include a security detail at the fete itself. We will have security in and out of the Inception Fete.”

He further said, “The K9 Unit will be at hand to detect illegal drugs and weapons. These officers will secure and maintain the integrity of the venue until the arrival of the main security detail. Phase Four will involve after the show patrons and vendors alike egress the venue safely.”

The event is expected to get underway from 10:00 p.m. where several notable local artistes, including reigning Soca Monarchs Sugar Bowl and Mr. Bagnall will be performing with Nu Vybes Band International, among other local bands.
