The name would probably inspire instantaneous thoughts of the fruit that so many Kittitians and Nevisians enjoy, the Star Apple or the Five Finger.
But in this context, Carambola (Beach Club) is the name of a hangout spot nestled amongst some trees at Friars Bay, South East Peninsula.
The restaurant features an open floor plan design and overlooks the sandy white beach which is caressed by the Caribbean Sea.
There is no difficulty catering to the needs of a couple of a party of 20 or more, because Carambola has a unique charm that makes one feel as if one is in one’s own intimate space although sitting amongst many in the open area.
Only recently the management and staff of SKNVibes visited Carambola for their Christmas get-together and was treated to a buffet-style lunch that featured a number of delectable dishes, including vegetable lasagna, sautéed plantains, grilled pork, sautéed vegetables and soup for an appetizer.
The sweet tooth which many possess was not left dissatisfied as there was a selection from or combination of beautifully-plated chocolate mousse and cheesecake.
At the click of a finger the staff was on hand to provide whatever service required.
If a view of nature is your preference, you could request a seat in the house which allows you breathtaking glances at the sun-kissed sea or the picturesque moments of the sun appearing to disappear into the waters at dusk.
SKNVibes’ Christmas gathering at Carambola ended with speeches and exchange of gifts and, needless to say, the experience at that restaurant left both management and staff with filled tummies, a happy mood, feeling invigorated and with a strengthened sense of camaraderie going into the New Year.
