“Utter disgrace” says Condor

The Hon. Sam Condor

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - FORMER Deputy Prime Minister and Parliamentary Representative for Constituency Three, Sam Condor has described Friday’s events (Jan. 16) as an “utter disgrace”.

Speaking at a Team Unity public meeting on Sunday evening (Jan. 18), Condor stressed that the actions taken in Parliament was a fraud on the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.

“What happened on Friday night was an utter disgrace, a fraud on the people of this country and a undermining of our democracy, a breach of our Constitution and a violation of our constitutional rights.

“Curtis wimpy Martin will go down in history as the worst Speaker to walk this earth. He is a disgrace to the Office of Speaker.”

He added that the “conspiracy” to have the boundaries changed was worse than the story of Guy Fawkes.

“The conspiracy of Edmund Lawrence, Peter Jenkins, Denzil Douglas and Curtis Martin is worse than what took place in England on November 5 by Guy Faux.

“Guy Faux wanted to burn down the Parliament but these fellas not only burn down the Parliament, they burnt the Constitution…the rules of Parliament, and then they want to burn our access to the Courts to seek justice.”

Condor was also of the belief that the Government sought boundary changes at that time to thwart their court action.

“They know what they were doing! That is why they went there in the middle of the night, because they think at that time we have no access to the Court, but they were quite wrong.

“I want to tell you that there are lawyers and there are lawyers and our lawyers know how to get us in court to get our rights. I want to tell Sylvester Anthony that. I want to tell him further what happened Friday night could not happen in St. Lucia and will not happen in St. Kitts.”
