BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – INCUMBENT Parliamentary Representative for Constituency Three, the Hon. Sam Condor has indicated that he has a love affair with his constituents even after 25 years of serving West Basseterre.
Speaking at a public meeting in Trafalgar Village on Thursday (Jan. 29), Condor rubbished claims that he has not done anything for the Constituency.
“I always have extreme difficulty in saying what I have done…and I have done a hell of a lot and I believe that is why I am here. I believe service through humanity is the best work of life. It is all about my people! I have a love relationship with my people. I was born into the party, when I leave is when I wanted to leave on my own terms.”
Condor said it is not his nature to boast about what he had done but reiterated that he had given plenty to the residents of his constituency.
“This is not about me, it is about my people. That is not my style to say what I do, but I have done all that I could have done.
“The other day I was talking to a girl and she said: ‘Sam boy you have done a lot.’ I said, ‘Yes, I give people everything except my blood.’ She exclaimed: ‘But you came to give me blood up the hospital too!’ So even my blood they get already; so I don’t bother with nobody with no childish talk about do nothing. I know I have serious problems in my constituency because you don’t say what you do Sam. What I did is what I suppose to do. Why should I say it?”
Condor took a shot at Prime Minster the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas who he claimed underestimated him.
“He went finding out how they could get the rid of me and he believed I could get 10 percent of the Labour vote and he say fire me. Little did he know I have in this constituency 100 percent of the PAM vote and 90 percent of the Labour votes. That is how I live…I watch no colours, whoever came was welcome in my office.
“Douglas underestimated the man he had here…Douglas could not be what he is without me. Those elections were won because of my contribution, and if he think it ain true wait until elections come and he will see.”
