Unity Team “Rallying” for Change in Challengers

By: Team Unity Secretariat, Press Release

Basseterre, St. Kitts, Thurs., February 5, 2015: Vulgar and unconstitutional gerrymandering in government lead to the Treaty of National Unity that will put an end to arbitrary boundary realignment practices and inequity in leadership in St. Kitts and Nevis. Rampant corruption and lack of transparency have gone unchecked leading to backlash from the people and generating a fiery response that led to the forming of Team Unity, the coming together of three parties to form a coalition to eradicate corruption and represent the concerns of the people.

Residents took to the streets, coming out in Challengers to show their support and to fight to take back “inalienable rights” said to be stolen from them under the leadership of outgoing Prime Minister, Denzil Douglas. The people of St. Kitts and Nevis are said to be weary of lies, calling Dr. Douglas “The Lying King.” Many have expressed a psychological departure from supporting the Labor party.  A wave of mass mental migration to the Unity Team coalition is being reported. Unity is seen as a new, ethical, and transparent model of government that will manifest on February 16, said Constituency leaders.

Recently, a Health Crisis at the Basseterre High School, St, Kitts, reportedly experienced by many students, lead to Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) involvement. PAHO is the Caribbean region’s equivalent of the World Health Organization (WHO), a watchdog agency to identify and contain communicable diseases that threaten to destabilize and cause mass hysteria during health crises.  Many have expressed outrage, claiming that reporting of the outbreak was stifled from airing nationally, which  is said to have left many students suffering the effects of a mysterious illness that was reportedly blocked from airing by local media outlets.

The Honorable Lindsey Grant, Constituency #4 Candidate took to the stage and spoke passionately about his vision for his constituency. He called the people to go out and vote for the “Dream Team” on February 16, allowing him to perform the “people’s work” and laying out a vision for several future projects that include affordable housing, employment opportunities, and permanent jobs. He also called for “community liaisons,” a novel concept not heard of before in this country, that will represent each community and funnel their concerns up to the constituency level.

He harshly criticized the current administration for “bribing” the people with “handouts” and failing to provide real progress, real opportunities, and real prosperity for the people. Mr. Grant called for an amnesty to remove guns from off the streets in efforts to reduce the incidence of crime and violence, an insipid plague on the people that have resulted in 5 murders in 5 weeks.

Incoming Prime Minister, Dr. Timothy Harris, culminated by expressing much love and appreciation for his constituency and the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.  He assured the people of his full loyalty and pledged his support to many institutions including the fishery that will provide ordinary people with a fair share of the resources of this country.

He spoke to quality of life issues, offering a better deal for PEP recipients. Dr. Harris spoke of his vision that included entrepreneurial opportunities, proving sustainability and job security, removing the VAT for food, medicines, and educational supplies. Team Unity will deliver for all people, said Dr. Harris, respecting freedom of choice and democracy at its best.
