By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – SKNVIBES has learnt that an incident occurred over the weekend in which one of the victims was lead singer in the Nu Vybz Band International, Gregory ‘Mention’ Hobson, but the police appear to be tight-lipped about it.

Since early yesterday (Feb. 22), SKNVibes received information that the incident allegedly occurred at Hobson’s Bird Rock home and while some details were provided, they have yet to be substantiated by the authorities.

This publication made contact with Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David and asked about the alleged incident. He said he had no knowledge of it and that this publication should make contact with him on the following day.

This morning contact was again made and the Inspector said he had not yet gotten information about the incident, which this publication understands occurred sometime during the evening of Saturday (Feb. 23).

This afternoon further contact was made, and after being invited to indicate what information this publication was seeing, the Inspector was asked what happened, to whom and when. Inspector David however said he could not answer those questions because that would equate to divulging evidence.

This media house suggested to Inspector David that he provides whatever information he could about the situation, to which he said: “I can tell you that the police is currently investigating an incident that took place regarding Mr. Hobson...Mention. We also like anyone who has any information pertaining to it…contact the police.”

Nearing the end of the conversation, this media house was none the wiser about basic information which would by no means jeopardise the police’s investigations, such as where and when the incident occurred.

As Inspector David explained, he could say nothing further until he gets more details and clarification on certain pieces of information.

SKNVibes asked if the incident was a robbery, larceny or burglary and the Inspector said he could give no further information until he gets some things clarified. He suggested that this media house contact him yet again.

However, information reaching this publication indicates that Hobson was at his home engaged in a game of Dominos with others, including a media personnel, when armed gunmen entered the home and reportedly assaulted/battered one or more of the individuals including Hobson before making off with items including a vehicle.

The incident reportedly ended with the victims seeking medical attention at the Joseph N. France General Hospital.
