BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – UNDER a slightly overcast sky with refreshing breeze blowing through the Nirvana Restaurant, six lovely young ladies who would be vying for the Miss LIME Black San 2015 title were officially revealed to the public over the weekend.

Introduced to the intimate gathering by pageant coordinator Treasa Wyatt, the ladies, accompanied by last year’s queen Desiree Herbert, emerged from the indoors of the restaurant and stood at the front of the pool where they were the center of attention.

Donning high-low, halter, gold dresses, the women were introduced by Herbert as Marsha Phillip, Felicia Silcott, Shameika Prentice, Tricilla Arthurton, Betania Seaton and Deshona Perinchief.

After a couple of rotations around the pool, the ladies modelled and posed for photographers.

Wyatt told SKNVibes that she was pleased with the combination of beauties selected for this year’s pageant.

“I think we have a good combination this year. Everybody brings something different to the table. They are very creative. If you get a chance to speak with them you would see how creative they are. So I’m especially looking forward to the Creative Segment and the Body Painting segment.

“I must say they are aspiring to be women of status in the country. For example, one of them wants to be an architect and I was impressed with that when she sent her bio to Miss Black San.”

Wyatt said she was also happy that the ladies hail from various communities across the Federation, including Nevis and Keys Village in St. Kitts.

For this, the fifth Miss Black San Competition, Wyatt informed that one of the segments, the Carib Black and Yellow, was removed to allow the contestants to focus their attention on one of the more popular segments, the Body Painting.

Wyatt said a special surprise is also in store and, while she did not give details, she hinted that someone who was involved in or who may have won a Caribbean Miss World Pageant would be hosting the event.

This publication also spoke with LIME’s Marketing Manager Kevin Edwards, who informed that this is the company’s fourth year of sponsorship and it is once again pleased to partner with the Black San brand.

Edwards declared that LIME would present the winner of the competition with “a very attractive handset”, but he did not reveal the specifics of the prize.

The even it slated for Sunday, March 29.
