Contract Signing /Ground Breaking For Iris O’Neal Medical Centre

    18 March 2015 - The Ground Breaking and Contracting Signing Ceremony for the Nurse Iris O’Neal Medical Centre on Virgin Gorda, will take place on Monday March 30.

     

    According to Minister for Health and Social Development Honourable Ronnie W. Skelton the ceremony marks a significant milestone for the people of Virgin Gorda.

    Minister Skelton said, “The construction of the Nurse Iris O’Neal Medical Centre has been long overdue and this event signifies that plans are in motion to ensure that the residents of Virgin Gorda have access to the highest standard of healthcare available.”

    The contract signing and ground breaking ceremony for the new medical facility will be held on the grounds adjacent to the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic on Virgin Gorda and will begin at 3:30 p.m.

    The Minister of Health and Social Development  is extending a personal invitation to the Virgin Gorda community to attend this landmark event as it holds significant meaning for the residents of that sister island.

    “Residents of Virgin Gorda, as Minister for Health and Social Development, it gives me great pleasure to personally invite you to share in the contract signing and ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the Nurse Iris O’Neal Medical Centre,”. Honourable Skelton said, adding, “I look forward to seeing each and every one of you there to share in this significant milestone.”

    Minister Skelton also announced that Cabinet awarded the contract for the construction of the Medical Centre to James Todman Construction Ltd.   The contract was awarded for the amount of Five Million, Nine Hundred Sixty Nine Thousand, Six Hundred Eighty Seven Dollars and Thirty-Nine cents ($5,969,687.39)

    The Ministry of Health and Social Development is committed to ensuring that all of the Territory’s residents have access to the highest standard of health care available.
