BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A 21-year-old male was found hanging from a mango tree in Mattingley Heights on Sunday (Mar. 22) and police are making investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Acting Commissioner of Police Stafford Liburd told SKNVibes that the man's name is Kartik Nishad, who resided in the area in which he was found.
He informed that the young man, who is of Indian decent, was discovered there sometime during that morning after which police officers were summoned to the scene.
A post mortem was conducted on Nishad’s body on Monday (Mar. 23) by resident pathologist Dr. Adrian Nunez who, according to Liburd, concluded that death caused by asphyxia resulting from hanging.
Asked is Nishad was a student, the Acting COP responded in the negative and indicated that he was employed within the Federation.
No foul play is suspected in Nishad's death but investigations are continuing.
