BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - CRICKET enthusiasts in St. Kitts and Nevis will be heading to the historic Warner Park Cricket Stadium on June 30 when the Biggest Party in Sports, the Caribbean Premier League, returns to that facility with an added incentive, as a team representing the Federation would be on show.

The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots will make their debut in the tournament along with their franchise player Shahid ‘Boom Boom’ Afridi, while a number of other global cricket stars are set to embark on Caribbean shores for the competition.

The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots will open their home campaign against the former champions - the Chris Gayle led Jamaica Tallawahs - the first of 10 games to be played at the facility.

The Patriots are scheduled to play four games at that venue.

The competition bowls off on June 20 in Barbados with a 2014 finals rematch between champions Barbados Tridents and the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

The competition will culminate in Trinidad and Tobago with the Grand Final on July 26.

In a statement on the tournament website, CPL CEO Damien O'Donohoe indicated that excitement has started to build surrounding the competition

"You can sense that excitement is already building. I am thrilled that so many quality players from within the Caribbean and around the world have been attracted to play in the CPL this season.

"Now that the schedule has been revealed, fans can start to plan a summer of unrivalled entertainment with the biggest party in sport taking centre stage. There will be something for everyone this year and the action will be non-stop from June 20th until the final on Sunday 26th July."

The schedule also reveals 33 games would be played in the month-long competition with 29 of them being played at night as opposed to 2014 when majority of games were played in the afternoon.

The CPL website also reported that an increase in prize money has helped to attract a number of global stars to the 2015 edition of the games.
