$1000 CASH Prize up for Grabs in This Friday’s first SKNABA Charles Morton Knockout Basketball Tournament

    The SKNABA 2015 League was officially Opened over the weekend on Sunday April 12th at Basketball City. 

     

    During the Opening Ceremony General-Secretary Wallis Wilkin announced the staging of the first Charles Morton Knockout Tournament. The Tournament will be held on Friday April 17th and will feature 14 teams from across all the divisions of the SKNABA League. 

     

    The One night 10 minute a game knockout  will begin at 6pm and will culminate later the same evening with a 20 minute FINAL where the winning team will walk away with some $1000 Cash Prize and the second place team with a consolation $500.

     

    The first round Knockout schedule is as follows

     

    1.       Hurricanes vs Wolfpack

     

    2.       Wha Do You vs Sandy Point Falcons

     

    3.       BucVille vs Hitters

     

    4.       Sol Fig Tree vs Runnerz

     

    5.       Cayon Lions vs Polstars

     

    6.       Quakers vs Exodus

     

    7.       Tuff Knots vs Legends

     

    According to the SKNABA the tournament is the first of a series of events that will be organized by the association to give teams more opportunities to play in addition to using said tournaments to recognize the contributions of individuals to the sport of basketball in the federation.

     

    Charles Morton who is being recognized in this tournament, is a past long time Executive Member of the Ass0ociation and has served in almost every capacity from President to Secretary to PRO of the association. He is also a former National Team Coach and Manager and led the legendary Gunners Basketball Club to SKABA titles back in the mid to late 80’s.

     

    Morton remains a very active supporter of Basketball and up until recently served as the head coach  the Nevis Island Team.
