    COURT CONVICTIONS:

     

    Nevis Circuit Court

     

    On Tuesday 14 April 2015 the Nevis Circuit Court Assizes presided over by Her Ladyship Justice Louraine Williams, commenced with nine (9) cases listed for trial. All indicted persons were allowed to make a plea to their indictments, and one (1) person, Geoffrey Romany plead guilty to his two (2) indictments; Fraudulent Conversion and Money Laundering. His sentencing date was set for Tuesday 28 April 2015. 

     

    Basseterre Magistrate's Court

     

    Charlsie Liburd of Upper Market Street was convicted for the offences and  of Monkey Vending Without Licence and Resisting Arrest, and fined $500.00 for the offence of Monkey Vending Without Licence which is to be paid in one (1) month or in default will serve fourteen (14) days in prison, and $250.00 for the offence of Resisting Arrest which is to  be paid in one (1) month or in default will serve fourteen (14) days in prison with hard labour.

     

    Emris Forbes of Mc Knight was convicted for the offence of Aggravated Assault, which was committed on 15th January 2015, and placed on a bond in the sum of $2000 for one year to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, the sum will be forfeited if bond is broken.

     

    ARREST:

     

    Brandi Lynn Rogers of Kentucky, USA was formally arrested and charged for the offences of Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Supply to another, which took place at Port Zante on 14th April 2015.

     

    The case was disposed of the next day (Wednesday 15 April 2015), and Brandi Rogers was convicted for the offence of Possession of Cocaine and fined $1,350.00 forthwith, or, in default will serve fourteens (14) days in prison with hard labour. The charge of Possession of Cocaine With Intent to Supply To Another was withdrawn.
