The Federation’s top Calypsonians will be participating in their final rehearsal session this evening in preparation for Tommorow Night Friday May 1st UNITY Calypso Revue Show at Carnival Village . Organisers of The event which was originally scheduled to be a Competition, were forced to change the format of the event due to the sudden unavailability of musician Nigel Williams who had to travel overseas suddenly. The unavailability of Williams resulted in the Calypsonians being unable to rehearse their new songs for the previously advertised Competition.
Organisers were initially contemplating postponing the event however the tremendous enthusiasm for a night of Calypso motivated organizers to proceed with a CALYPSO Show rather than a competition. King Socrates, Reigning King Astro, Former Culturama King I-Soursop, Lord Kut, Calypso Queen Lady Diva, Mighty Honesty, Mighty Flamingo from Nevis and Multi-Time Culturama King Meeko and many others are expected to perform at the Revue on Friday Night starting at 8pm at Carnival Village. The Legends Orchestra will be providing the backing music.
An appearance will also be made by the UNITY Independence Pageant Contestants. The Contestants are currently in preparation for the big UNITY Independence Pageant to be held in September as part of the Anniversary Celebrations of Team UNITY.
