By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WHAT appeared to have been a regular Friday afternoon (May 15) liming session, was abruptly interrupted when masked gunmen opened fire on a young man in Ottley's Village, injuring him in the process.

Press and Public Relations Officer for the Police Force Inspector Lyndon David told SKNVibes that at about 4:45p.m. Deshawn ‘Struggle’ Williams, who resides at Ottleys, was among others sitting under what is known as The Big Tree, which is in vicinity of the basketball court, when a grey Nissan Sunny car approached from Molyneaux direction.

David said three masked men exited the vehicle and opened fire striking the 29-year-old. He however said that he is not certain on which part of the body Williams sustained the injury.

He was reportedly taken to the hospital where he was receiving medical attention.

Members of the public who are in possession of information which could assist the authorities in bringing closure to this case are asked to contact the nearest police station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477.
