BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have arrested five men for various offences, ranging from Wounding to Possession of Cannabis, while another was convicted and fined for the offence of Battery.
A police communiqué issued this morning (May 23) states that Julio Menez of No. 15 Ocean Lawn in Camps was formally arrested and charged with Simple Wounding; an offence he allegedly committed on Saturday (May 16), while Kevern Adams of Taylors Housing was arrested and charged on six counts of Building Breaking and Larceny allegedly committed between April 20 and 21 at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium.
On the morning of Tuesday, April 21, 2015, it was reported that locks on the doors of the St. Kitts Cricket Association (SKCA) and the Leeward Islands Cricket Association (LICA) offices were destroyed.
President of the SKCA Dennis Phillip told SKNVibes that on entering the offices that Tuesday morning, he discovered that they was vandalised and six computers were stolen; two from the SKCA and four from the LICA.
The others arrested and charged are Glenville Whyte of Temple Alley, Cayon Street; Troy Francis of River Ghaut, Cayon; and Glenville Fahie of Cherry Gardens Housing Project on Nevis.
Whyte was charged with Possession Of Cannabis and Armed with Offensive Weapon, which occurred on Friday (May 15), while Francis was charged and cautioned for Possession of Cannabis one day after and Fahie was charged for larceny and receiving, offences he allegedly committed on Friday (May 15).
Fahie was granted bail and was scheduled to appear at the Charlestown Magistrate Court last Tuesday (May 19) but no information was had on the court’s findings.
And at a Magistrate’s Court in St. Kitts, Karis Douglas of Main Street, St. Paul’s Village was convicted for the offence of Battery committed on October 5, 2013 in the said Village.
He was fined EC$600 which is to be paid by the end of this month (May) or, if in default, will have to serve a 30-day imprisonment with hard labour.
