Hundreds turnout for Green Valley Jam

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – RESIDENTS of Cayon and surrounding communities were out in full force this morning ay 25) as the Green Valley Festival celebrated it annual J'Ouvert Morning.

     

    Kicking off shortly after 6:00 a.m., hundreds came out to jam behind the sweet music of Real Right Entertainment and the Kollison Band.

    Gyrating to the music were a large number of individuals with painted bodies, with the majority favouring to jam with E.K of Real Right Entertainment, while the Kollison Band was belting out some of their songs that became popular during the National Carnival Seasons.

    One J’Ouvert Troupe however was on show, with the revellers sporting jerseys labelled 'Big People Biznizz'.

    There were also a number of characters on show, including someone donning graduation garbs, while a young man was bedecked in a red coverall with the sleeves and the leg portions of the pants cut short.

    Commenting on the event, one Cayon resident told this media house that it has been one of the best J’Ouverts that the Green Valley had hosted in years, based on the quality of music and the participation of members of the community.

    The morning however did not go by without a few hiccups, as some revellers got involved in disagreements. The security forces were however on hand to quickly quell the disturbances.

    The jamming ended at 11:30 a.m.
