June 3rd, 2015 - We are proud to salute one of the daughters of the soil Patricia Maynard, formerly known as Patricia Molyneaux. She is a Poet and Story book writer who resides in the Virgin Islands. Recently, she has launched two of her books; “Why is my dad Mad at Me” and “Smart in Pink.” She also has an anthology of Poems for Children She has great reviews from parents, teachers and students. Her collection has been encouraging, motivating and inspiring.
Presently she is an Assistant Principal of the Joseph A. Gomez Elementary School. She is very passionate about teacher and learning. She believes all children can learn. She is an educator for over twenty five years. Her educational qualifications are a Bachelor of Arts in elementary Education, Master of Arts in School Administration, a Curriculum specialist Degree and a Master of Arts in Public Administration.
She was recognized as an outstanding teacher in the St. Thomas/St. John School District. She was also recognized for her contributions to educating the children of the Virgin Islands.
She has made presentations at various professional organizations such as American Federation of Teachers Mini Quest, Lockhart elementary School – Professional Day and a Motivational Presentation to the Wesley Methodist Cotillion Contestant.
She also provides mentorship to the boys and girls of two clubs that she is the founder of - The progressive and Ambitious Girls Club and the Know It and Grow It boys Gardening Club.
Mrs. Maynard is an active member of the First Wesleyan Holiness Church in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
She is a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Local Board of Administration.
In spite of her hectic schedule, she is committed to family. She is married to Paul Maynard M.D. and she has three sons to include a set of identical twins – Dwight and Dwayne and Paul Jr. She loves her mother dearly –Sara Underwood and takes time out to visit her dad Adonis Primus.
When she finds the time for herself, she enjoys reading and going to the beach.
