Do you want to become a better musician?

By: St. Kitts Music Festival, Press Release

Basseterre, St. Kitts, 3rd June , 2015 –  Imagine being mentored by singers and instrumentalists who collectively have well over 45 years of experience in the industry.  Avoid their mistakes, learn about their knowledge gained and give yourself a head start as you develop.

The St. Kitts Music Festival organises another Music Development Workshop to purposely transfer benefits of the summer event.  Going beyond the entertaining concerts and promotion of the island as a tourist destination; the Festival organisers want to inspire the nascent desire in our local artists to grow their love for music. This is being done by having visiting musicians conduct hands-on tutorials on chosen instruments, supported by a designated question and answer session on issues beyond the instruments.

This year the Festival is working towards expanding the workshop from one to two days.  Nigel Williams, head of the Music Development Workshop Committee, himself a veteran trumpeter, commented, “ as an aspiring musician you will never know it all.  So why not share and learn from the professionals that have successfully performed worldwide and fully understand the struggles and benefits of the rich music industry. ”  The workshops will be held Wednesday 24th and Friday 26th June, 2015 at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.
