BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ONCE again, telecommunications company Digicel has displayed its altruistic nature in the donation of a Digi Home Phone and $1000 to the recently-formed Whole Again Foundation.

The Whole Again Foundation was founded and headed by Patrick Williams to assist amputees in St. Kitts and Nevis.

The presentation was made this morning (June 3) by Digicel's Marketing Executive Tishana Jeffers at the company’s St. Kitts location in Basseterre in the vicinity of the Circus.

"We are here to make a presentation to the Whole Again Foundation. This morning we will be handing over a Digi Home Phone, which can be used to basically make calls, and we would be giving a top-up every month so they can make calls and send texts," Jeffers said.

She then announced that Digicel would also be donating a sum of money to help the Foundation in its endeavours.

"Other than that, we would like to also handover a $1 000 cheque to the Whole Again Foundation just so that you can continue doing the good work."

President of the Whole Again Foundation Patrick Williams, in response, thanked Digicel for the donation and expressed the hope that it was the beginning of a lasting partnership.

"Let me, on behalf of the Whole Again Foundation, express how pleased we are to have entered in this partnership with Digicel, and we hope to collaborate in the not too distant future on other aspects of our programme."

He then gave some background information into the recently-formed organisation.

"Most people in St. Kitts would know that I lost my leg in a building not too far from here in a rather freak accident last April. Based on my experiences in rehabilitating and trying to be active and a productive citizen once again, it hit me one day...perhaps I should use my own personal experiences in a positive way to assist other amputees in St. Kitts and Nevis. Thus, the idea was born."

Williams also highlighted the rationale behind the name.

"The name was chosen because my wife, at the time of my ordeal, expressed a desire to see her husband whole again."

Williams disclosed that the organisation was recently registered and they would soon be unveiling there programme.
