Bigger better Louder Concert A Resounding Success

Omar Ewen live in concert on Friday June 5th at the New Birth Gospel Tabernacle
Press Release

June 15th, 2015 -- The artists on the Caribbean Gospel Music Tour brought the house down at the New Birth Gospel Tabernacle Church in Cayon Friday night, June 5th as the Bigger Better Louder Concert lived up to expectations. The eight artists from around the Caribbean each delivered an exhilarating performance much to the delight of gospel music fans. The event started with a dance selection by two local dancers dancing to Christian hip-hop selections to get the crowd warmed up for the occasion. Then the two local artists on the tour Dominic Brookes and Nyquan took to the stage to perform their hit single “Amazing” which got the crowd up and bouncing. Nyquan then performed “Holy” one of the songs on his newly released EP “No Distance.”

Then came the performance of Omar Ewen from Jamaica, who is based in the USVI. He brought a worship feel to the event performing some well-known worship selections. The crowd was into every second of his ministry as he ushered them in the presence of God. Right after his performance, came the energetic Shawn English from Guyana. He brought the hip hop vibes to the proceedings and was very involved with the audience. Even at one stage, he ventured into the crowd and engaged them into a dance-off, which was very entertaining and enjoyable.

Then came Joshua DRJ from St. Maarten. He set the pace for a high-tempo evening with two of his selections. Joshua is no stranger to St. Kitts and Nevis and the gospel music community as he was a student here for five years. He kept the crowd engaged and in a celebratory mood which was key for the other artists to follow. The soca man Nigel Lopez from Trinidad and Tobago took the stage thereafter and did two songs: “Surrender” and “If you don’t have Christ.” Like the others, his performance was a perfect mix of ministry and entertainment. Surrender has a nice groovy soca feel to it mixed with energy and earned him plaudits from the audience. His second selection was more soulful and designed to minister to the hearts of his listeners. Mix that with his testimony, he really drove home the point of why Christ is important to anyone’s life.

After Nigel, the tour manager and founder Curtis Jordan took to the stage. He delivered his two big hit singles: Alive and Redeemed. The latter of the two was released just prior to the start of the tour. Like the artists before him, Curtis brought the energy and the vibe that he is known for and kept the crowd in the groove, preparing the way for the last artist of the night. Keron Thomas: known as D Furnace finished the job the others started. He brought so much energy performing a slew of his songs including some popular gospel choruses was the right mix to end the evening. He also shared his testimony about joining the tour and how God remains faithful to him.

The concert ended with an altar call from the homegrown artist on the tour Dominic Brookes. The turnout at the event and the atmosphere was good. The church was lighted with special colored lights setting a club atmosphere and a designated dance floor in front the altar. Added entertainment was provided by DJ Noah who also led some activities to giveaway prizes from one of the sponsors Digicel. Other sponsors include the St. Kitts and Nevis Development Bank and the New Birth Gospel Tabernacle. The Caribbean Gospel Tour in St. Kitts is under the heading Unleash Experience and is organized by the tour in association with Unleash Youth Ministry. It features the Unleash School Tour involving 10 schools in St. Kitts and Nevis, the Bigger Better Louder Youth Rally and Concert and a church tour. The artists also visited the Horizon Juvenile Center.
