Nevis Culturama 40 Press Release

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, June 18, 2015 – Eleven Kaisonians to perform tomorrow Night’s at the launch of the LIME Proud Sound Culturama Kaiso Tent.

     

    The LIME Proud Sound Culturama Kaiso Tent will be off to a flying start tomorrow evening Friday June 19th when some eleven Kaisonians are expected to perform on the opening night of the Culturama 41 Kaiso season. The Ole House Café on Pump Road, Stoney Grove will be the venue for the first kaiso tent for 2015. The tent is expected to get started at 9:00 pm and would include two former Culturama Kaiso Kings in Astro and Hollywood along with regular finalists Nutsy, Baker and Adowah.
     
    The lineup of other Kaisonians include Polo, Enforcer, Daddy Nature and Daddy Slimba. Returning to the Culturama kasio stage after an absence of some 14 years would be De Advisor who formally sang under the sobriquet of Murray and also former Carnival Junior calypso King, Irwin who last competed in the Culturama kaiso contest in 1979.
     
    The Mighty Unexpected from St. Kitts will be making a guest appearance and popular local entertainer Calypso Reggie would be the MC for the evening. The musical accompaniment for the Kaisonians would be provided by the Grand Masters Band which has been rehearsing with the Kaisonians over the past three weeks.

    The Culturama 41 Kaiso finals will take place on Saturday August 1st at the Cultural Complex in Charlestown Nevis and reigning Kaiso Monarch Dis and Dat will be attempting to create history by being the first Kaisonian to win back to back Culturama Kaiso titles.
