Employee of 15 years wins Kajola’s Employee of the Month Award

Employee of the Month Dana Williams

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AMERICAN television show host and comedian the late Johnny Carson once said: “My success just evolved from working hard at the business at hand each day.” These words exemplify the work ethic of Dana Williams, the young lady who has been named Kajola Kristada’s May 2015 Employee of the Month.

For the last decade and a half, Williams has been employed at Kajola and has worked on several lines, including Super Trap and Mini Initial, and she currently performs duties on the Populating Line.

Hailing from Tabernacle, Williams currently resides in Cayon and is the mother two teenage children, a boy and a girl.

Sometime during the middle of last week, Williams arrived at her place of employ as per usual and began working. She said she recalled the regular song and dance taking place to signal that an Employee of the Month had been selected and was about to be announced.

Williams said the Employee of the Month Committee was singing and making music with whatever they would find, including boxes and a tambourine, before the announcement was made.

“They went through all the lines in the factory and, when they came around, they stood behind me and I kept saying ‘it can’t be me, it can’t be me’.”

Williams said she had not reacted initially, but after the news sank in she felt pleased and happy at her accomplishment. She won the award once before, in 2008.

Some employees of the company have won the award before; some even multiple times, but there are still those who have yet to experience winning such an accolade.

Williams indicated that it is not out of their reach and encouraged her fellow employees to “come to work on time, always do quality work and do your part”.

Supervisor Enid Smith spoke glowingly of Williams, describing her as one who never murmurs and always produces quality work.

“I feel great, I feel good! She deserves it. She is one who always produces quality work and wherever you put her, she doesn’t murmur, she goes and tries her best. She does very well. I could ask her to do anything, and without complaining she does it.”

To Dana, heartfelt congratulations are extended.
